  The  knowledge  the Yolŋu people have of the land amazes me. the above photograph is of 'Daisy' one of the elders in the community. Daisy speaks of eating and surviving off the land whilst two women are searching for fresh waterlilies in the creek

 The Toyota Land Cruiser Troopy has become a staple in this community, allowing for easy maintenance of the land area and access to the closet town located a gruelling 7 hour drive on dirt trails.

 For the men in these communities wood carving is used to portray stories of  'dreaming'  and depict messages for years to come. One of the elders explains his wood carving and the process of creating this piece of art.
