Ayden Shepherd -  Photographer

At 20 years of age, Ayden is a young photography talent who has a passion for showing the beauty and adversity of the world. Ayden has a passion for photographing Landscapes, People and Human Rights Issues. Ayden already has significant achievements. including opening his exhibition of a series of his unique photographs at Tamburlaine Organic Wines. "The World Through my Eyes" includes some stunning landscapes and a very moving series on homelessness.  “It is good to see such a young talent’s work recognised in this unique exhibition setting said,” Master Photograph and Mentor, Daniel Linnet.  “He is a shining example of what can be achieved with dedication and hard work. It is an honour to support his achievements,” he added. 

Daniel Linnet, Sydney Photographic Workshops, saw the talent of Ayden and offered him a mentorship. Ayden has been developing all areas of photography under the guidance of Daniel.  Through this mentorship Ayden has had the opportunity to be assistant photographer for professional shoots, including: Good Design Awards, NRMA Open Road Magazine, NRMA Car Awards, Marcia Hines and Adam Gilchrist. Ayden says: "The experience, opportunties and learning that Daniel provides me is invaluable as he challenges me to look at the world in a different way." 

In 2013, Ayden was selected by Invisible Children to attend the World Youth Leadership Conference in the USA for his ability to use photography to promote human rights.    Ayden has many other accomplishments including a Honourable Mention from the 2013 International IPhone Awards for his photograph of "Rivets of the Tower", The Judges Award at Inspired for "Sunset at Hopi Point, Grand Canyon.  The year 2014 brought opportunities for Ayden to portray through his photography the Human Rights of others and Social Justice issues. Ayden was commissioned by the presenter for the photographic series: “It Hurts me Too- Family Violence” which was viewed by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and Social Security Appeals Tribunal as part of their training on Family Violence. Ayden also developed a photographic series for a presentation at the Australian National ACWA conference on Children in a changing world: Challenges for Families and Communities.  Ayden was commissioned to develop a photographic series on Child Asylum Seekers that was shown as part of a presentation at the International Conference, 25 years Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Netherlands. Ayden commitment to Human Rights is reflected not only in his works but also he donated two photographs for the fundraiser at Sydney: "Bring Back Our Girls" which raised money for the missing Nigerian Chibok School Girls.  Ayden says: "The opportunity to promote human rights and social justice through my photography is an important part as to why I take photographs." 

Ayden's other experience includes:  Photographer for the Hunter Region Independent Schools Cultural Festival, Hunter Valley School Production and the Trainee of the Year awards night for an aged care facility.

Ayden has sold photographs across Australia and people in Germany, United Kingdom and USA have acquired his work.
